I am writing on behalf of the team involved in the HEAL Project (Health Education and Awareness for Life) to respectfully request permission to implement a series of health and wellness events within SayPro.
The HEAL Project is a student-led initiative aimed at empowering youth and the broader community through education, practical skills, and access to essential health resources. As part of this project, we have planned four key events to be held at SayPro:
- Health Education – STI & Disease Prevention Awareness
This event focuses on educating young people about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), their symptoms, prevention methods, and the importance of early testing. Activities will include a presentation by a health promoter and an interactive Q&A session with participants. - Health Care Wellness – GBV Awareness and Health Services
This session aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence and provide access to services such as HIV testing, contraceptives, and PrEP. We plan to collaborate with local clinics and GBV awareness organisations to deliver this event effectively. - First Aid Training
A hands-on training session led by a qualified first aid professional. The session will teach essential life-saving skills including CPR and wound care. Certificates will be issued to all participants upon successful completion, helping to improve their employability. - Pads Drive – Menstrual Health and Hygiene Support
This event is focused on providing access to sanitary pads and delivering educational content on menstrual health and hygiene. We are pleased to inform you that we have already sought sponsorship for the distribution of pads, which will allow us to reach those in need and ensure a meaningful impact. The session will also focus on breaking menstrual taboos and encouraging open dialogue.
These events were previously scheduled but could not be implemented due to unforeseen circumstances. We now seek approval to reschedule and host these events at SayPro. The new dates will be confirmed in consultation with all relevant stakeholders once approval is granted.
We also kindly request that the events be open to young people from the wider community, not only SAYPro students. This will help extend the benefits of the HEAL Project to a broader audience and promote community-wide health awareness and empowerment.
The project will be coordinated by task teams, with the involvement of guest speakers such as health promoters, GBV activists, clinic staff, and certified trainers. We are committed to ensuring that each event is well-organized, inclusive, and impactful.
