By submitting your registration form and participating in the SayPro Cultural Singing Competition, you (the “Participant”) acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions set forth by SayPro. These rules are in place to ensure a fair, respectful, and enjoyable competition for all participants, as well as to safeguard the integrity of the event. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully.
1. General Rules and Eligibility
1.1 Eligibility:
The SayPro Cultural Singing Competition is open to individuals and groups from all cultural backgrounds, provided that their performance reflects their heritage.
Contestants must be able to provide identification, proof of age (if required), and other relevant documentation upon request.
Participants must be at least \[Insert Minimum Age] years old to enter the competition. Parental consent is required for participants under 18 years old.
1.2 Participation:
Each participant or group must submit a complete registration form, a song performance (audio/video), and a Song & Performance Details document by the designated deadline.
The song selected for the preliminary round must be the same as the one performed in the final competition (if selected).
1.3 Cultural Relevance:
Participants must choose a song that reflects their cultural heritage, identity, or a traditional cultural performance.
Performances should reflect cultural authenticity and respect. Cultural appropriation or misrepresentation may result in disqualification.
2. Competition Format and Deadlines
2.1 Preliminary Round:
All participants must submit an audio/video recording of their performance by \[Insert Submission Deadline Date].
Preliminary round submissions will be reviewed by the SayPro judging panel, and selected finalists will be invited to compete in the live or virtual final round.
2.2 Final Round:

2.3 Late Submissions:

3. Performance Guidelines
3.1 Song Selection:
Participants must submit a traditional or culturally significant song that is representative of their heritage.
The song must be performed in its original language or a culturally appropriate dialect.
3.2 Recording and Performance:
Submissions must be recorded in one continuous take without editing or enhancements.
Performances should respect the cultural context of the song, and participants should consider wearing culturally relevant attire during their recorded or live performance.
If submitting a video, the participant must be visible for the duration of the performance.
3.3 Language and Content:
Participants are encouraged to submit songs that contain meaningful and respectful content. Songs with inappropriate or offensive language, themes, or content may lead to disqualification.
4. Judging Criteria
4.1 Evaluation Criteria:
Participants will be judged based on the following criteria:
Vocal Ability – Pitch, tone, control, and clarity
Interpretation – Emotional connection, phrasing, and storytelling
Cultural Authenticity – Faithfulness to the tradition, language, and performance style
Overall Presentation – Confidence, stage presence, and engagement with the audience (if applicable)
4.2 Judging Panel:
The panel will consist of professional singers, music educators, and cultural ambassadors who will assess each performance according to the above criteria. The panel’s decision is final.
5. Use of Recordings and Promotional Materials
5.1 Copyright and Ownership:
Participants retain the copyright to their performance, but by entering the competition, they grant SayPro the right to use their performance (audio/video) for promotional, educational, and archival purposes, including but not limited to the SayPro website, social media, marketing materials, press releases, and event broadcasts.
5.2 Promotional Usage:
Participants agree to allow SayPro to use their name, likeness, voice, and performance in all promotional and media materials related to the competition and the SayPro organization.
Participants will not receive compensation for the use of their performance in promotional materials but will be credited appropriately.
6. Disqualification and Code of Conduct
6.1 Disqualification Criteria:
Participants may be disqualified for the following reasons:
Submitting a song that does not meet the cultural or artistic guidelines
Violating the competition’s rules regarding originality, performance integrity, or misrepresentation of cultural heritage
Inappropriate behavior or misconduct during the competition
Submitting false or incomplete information on the registration form
6.2 Code of Conduct:
Participants are expected to maintain respect for fellow competitors, judges, and organizers. Disrespectful conduct, including offensive language, disruptive behavior, or disrespecting cultural values, will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.
7. Liability and Indemnification
7.1 Liability:
SayPro and its affiliates are not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses that occur during the competition or as a result of participation in the event.
7.2 Indemnification:
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless SayPro, its organizers, sponsors, and partners from any claims, damages, or legal actions resulting from their participation in the competition.
8. General Terms
8.1 Modification of Terms:
SayPro reserves the right to amend, modify, or add to these terms and conditions as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to participants in writing.
8.2 Force Majeure:
SayPro is not liable for failure to conduct the competition due to circumstances beyond its control, including natural disasters, pandemics, or other unforeseen events.
8.3 Agreement:
By submitting the registration form and participating in the competition, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
