As part of the SayPro Monthly January SCDR-7 session on Platform Selection, employees will be asked to provide feedback on crowdfunding platforms they have personally used or are familiar with, as well as share their insights on which features they believe are most crucial for SayPro’s campaigns. This feedback will play a critical role in refining the selection process and ensuring that the most appropriate platforms are chosen to align with SayPro’s fundraising goals and strategic objectives.

The Platform Evaluation Feedback process will be structured to collect detailed, actionable insights from employees with direct experience or knowledge of crowdfunding platforms, ensuring that the decision-making process is informed by both practical experience and strategic considerations.

1. Purpose of the Platform Evaluation Feedback

The primary goals of the platform evaluation feedback are:

  • Leverage employee knowledge: Many employees may have experience using crowdfunding platforms in their personal or professional lives, and their feedback will offer valuable perspectives on the usability and functionality of different platforms.
  • Identify important features: By soliciting opinions on what features are most critical for SayPro’s specific needs (e.g., donation tracking, social sharing, reporting tools), employees will help prioritize platform capabilities that best align with the organization’s goals.
  • Incorporate diverse viewpoints: Gathering input from a range of employees with different roles and expertise ensures that the selected platform meets the needs of various teams and campaign strategies.

2. Components of the Platform Evaluation Feedback

The feedback process will involve employees answering a structured set of questions to gather detailed input on their experiences and insights. The components of the evaluation feedback form will include:

A. Platform Experience

  • Usage Experience: Employees will be asked to share their direct experience with different crowdfunding platforms, specifying which platforms they have used, the context in which they used them, and the outcomes of their campaigns (if applicable).

Example Questions:

  • Which crowdfunding platforms have you personally used? (e.g., GoFundMe, Kickstarter, Indiegogo, etc.)
  • What type of campaigns did you use these platforms for? (e.g., charitable causes, personal projects, professional fundraisers)
  • How would you rate your overall experience using these platforms? (Scale of 1-5)

B. Features Assessment

• Key Platform Features: Employees will be asked to rank or identify the features they consider most important when selecting a platform for SayPro’s fundraising campaigns. Features to be considered might include donation processing, integration capabilities with marketing tools, customization options, social media sharing options, and audience reach.

Example Questions:

  • Which platform features do you think are essential for SayPro’s crowdfunding campaigns? (Select all that apply) – Donation tracking and reporting – Social media sharing tools – Integration with email marketing systems – Customizable donation pages – Mobile accessibility – Transparency and real-time updates
  • Rank these features in order of importance to you. (1 = most important, 5 = least important)

C. Platform Usability and Accessibility

  • Ease of Use: Employees will be asked to evaluate the usability and accessibility of the platforms they’ve used, including how easy it was to set up and manage a campaign, track donations, and communicate with donors.
  • Mobile Experience: Given that many donors may engage through mobile devices, employees will be asked to assess how user-friendly the platform’s mobile interface is.

Example Questions:

  • How easy was it to set up a crowdfunding campaign on your platform of choice? (Scale of 1-5)
  • How accessible and intuitive was the platform’s donor interface? (Scale of 1-5)
  • Did you find the platform’s mobile version or app easy to use? (Yes/No)

D. Platform Costs and Fees

  • Cost-Effectiveness: Employees will be asked to evaluate whether the platform’s fees (such as platform fees, transaction fees, and other hidden costs) were reasonable in relation to the features and services provided.

Example Questions:

  • Were the fees for using the platform transparent and reasonable? (Yes/No)
  • Did the platform charge transaction fees, and were these fees acceptable for your campaign? (Yes/No, Please elaborate)
  • Would you consider the platform cost-effective for SayPro’s fundraising needs? (Yes/No)

E. Reputation and Trustworthiness

  • Reputation and Trust: Employees will be asked to share their views on the reputation of the platforms they’ve used. This can include the platform’s track record, user feedback, and customer service responsiveness. Trust in the platform is crucial for both the campaign team and the donors.

Example Questions:

  • How would you rate the trustworthiness of the platform you used? (Scale of 1-5)
  • Did the platform offer adequate customer support in case of issues or questions? (Yes/No, Please elaborate)
  • Would you trust this platform with SayPro’s donor data and campaign funds? (Yes/No)

F. General Impressions and Suggestions

  • Open-Ended Feedback: Employees will have the opportunity to provide open-ended feedback, including any additional impressions they had while using the platform and any suggestions for improvement.
  • Platform Suitability: Employees can also offer insights on how suitable they think each platform would be for SayPro’s specific campaigns, considering factors such as target audience, campaign type, and organizational goals.

Example Questions:

  • What was your overall impression of the platform(s) you used? (Open-ended)
  • What features or functionalities would you suggest improving or adding to make the platform more suitable for SayPro’s needs? (Open-ended)
  • Based on your experience, which platform do you think would be most suitable for SayPro’s fundraising campaigns and why? (Open-ended)

3. Collection and Analysis of Feedback

The feedback collected will be compiled, analyzed, and summarized by the Resource Mobilisation Office to extract key insights. These insights will guide the final decision on which platforms will be selected for SayPro’s campaigns. The analysis will focus on:

  • Feature prioritization: Which features employees think are most critical for SayPro’s fundraising campaigns.
  • User satisfaction: How satisfied employees are with their experiences on different platforms and whether they would recommend those platforms for SayPro’s use.
  • Cost-effectiveness: The platforms that provide the best value for money based on employee input.
  • Reputation and trustworthiness: Identifying which platforms have the best reputations among employees and are seen as reliable for handling campaign funds and donor data.

4. Benefits of the Platform Evaluation Feedback Process

The Platform Evaluation Feedback process will provide several key benefits to SayPro:

  • Informed Decision-Making: Employee insights will help ensure that the platforms selected are well-suited for SayPro’s needs, based on real-world experience and practical usage.
  • Employee Engagement: Allowing employees to contribute feedback fosters a sense of ownership and involvement in the platform selection process, increasing engagement and buy-in for the selected platforms.
  • Feature Alignment: Identifying the most important features will help ensure that the selected platforms offer capabilities that align with SayPro’s campaign goals, donor engagement needs, and integration requirements.
  • Cost and Reputation Insights: Employees’ feedback on costs and platform reputations will ensure that SayPro chooses platforms that are both affordable and trustworthy, which is essential for maintaining donor confidence and campaign integrity.

5. Conclusion

By gathering detailed feedback from employees who have firsthand experience with various crowdfunding platforms, SayPro ensures that the final selection is informed, practical, and aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.
