SayPro Parents/Guardians
Parents and guardians play a vital role in the SayPro Development Quarterly Pre-School Singing Competition, scheduled for 01 January under the SayPro initiative (SCDR-3-31). This event emphasizes early childhood development through creativity, cultural expression, and family participation. The involvement of parents or legal guardians is not only required but celebrated as an essential part of the experience.
Registration and Consent
Parents/guardians are responsible for registering their child for the competition by the designated deadline.
Registration includes:
Completing an official entry form (online or paper-based),
Providing basic participant information,
Agreeing to the event’s terms and conditions, including media consent (if applicable).
Accurate contact details must be provided to facilitate communication regarding event logistics and updates.
Preparation and Practice
Parents are expected to actively assist their child in selecting an appropriate song that aligns with the competition’s themes of simplicity, cultural relevance, and educational value.
They are encouraged to:
Support regular practice sessions at home,
Help the child become comfortable with performing,
Provide emotional encouragement throughout the preparation process.
For children who are shy or new to performing, parents can rehearse alongside them to build confidence.
Accompaniment During the Event
All participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the day of the competition.
Guardians will:
Stay with their child before, during, and after the performance,
Ensure the child is ready and dressed appropriately,
Help manage any stage fright or nerves,
Celebrate their child’s effort regardless of the outcome.
Documentation and Submissions
If the competition requires pre-event submissions—such as video auditions, signed forms, or media consent—parents are responsible for ensuring:
All documentation is submitted accurately and on time,
Video recordings meet the specified technical and content guidelines,
File formats and naming conventions are followed as instructed by the organizers.
Guideline Compliance
Parents must review and ensure their child’s performance complies with all event rules, including:
Time limits for performances,
Song content appropriateness,
Use of props or costumes (if allowed or encouraged),
Language or themes consistent with SayPro’s values of inclusivity, education, and creativity.
Supportive Environment
SayPro emphasizes a non-competitive, child-friendly atmosphere. Parents are expected to foster this environment by:
Demonstrating good sportsmanship and mutual respect,
Encouraging all participants, not just their own child,
Understanding that the primary focus is participation and personal growth, not competition or perfection.
Recognition and Appreciation
All participating children will receive recognition, and SayPro acknowledges the important role of parents/guardians by:
Thanking them publicly at the event,
Providing them with guidance resources ahead of time,
Offering a small token of appreciation for their dedication and involvement.
The SayPro Singing Competition is designed as a family-centered experience, and the presence, encouragement, and preparation provided by parents or guardians are essential to making it a memorable and meaningful event for every child.
