Judging Criteria
Each performance will be scored based on the following categories:
1.Creativity and Originality (20 points)
How imaginative and unique is the choreography?
Does the performance reflect a creative interpretation of the cultural tradition?
2.Cultural Authenticity (25 points)
Does the performance stay true to the cultural elements it represents?
Are costumes, music, and movement styles accurate and respectful of the culture portrayed?
3.Choreography and Technique (20 points)
Is the choreography well-structured and rhythmically sound?
Are the dancers technically proficient and synchronized?
4.Execution and Stage Presence (20 points)
How well do the performers engage the audience?
Is the performance confident, polished, and emotionally compelling?
5.Overall Impact (15 points)
What is the lasting impression of the performance?
Did the piece effectively convey its intended message or emotion?
Each judge will score individually, and the final score will be a cumulative average of all judges’ evaluations.
Judging Process
Judges will be given ascorecard template to ensure uniformity in assessment.
Abrief cultural description provided by participants will be reviewed prior to each performance to contextualize the dance.
Judges are encouraged to provideconstructive feedback, which will be shared with participants after the event.
