SayPro Community Liaison Officer

Role Function: Documentation of Needs, Challenges, and Proposed Solutions at the Community Level
Department: SayPro Community Development Office
Reporting To: Regional Development Coordinator | SayPro Development Royalty


Role Overview

The SayPro Community Liaison Officer (CLO) plays a critical role in connecting communities with the SayPro Development ecosystem. As a frontline representative, the CLO is responsible for actively engaging with local communities, gathering real-time insights, and ensuring that community voices shape the planning and implementation of development projects.

By documenting needs, challenges, and community-driven solutions, the CLO helps align SayPro’s project strategies with local realities, ensuring inclusive and sustainable impact.


Key Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement & Trust Building

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, community leaders, youth, womenโ€™s groups, and other marginalized populations.
  • Facilitate inclusive forums, listening sessions, and participatory meetings to gather authentic input.

2. Needs Assessment Documentation

  • Conduct structured and informal interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and surveys.
  • Identify pressing community needs across sectors (e.g., education, employment, health, infrastructure, youth development, social services).
  • Categorize needs by urgency, target groups, and geographic location.

3. Challenge Identification

  • Document ongoing and systemic challenges faced by the community.
  • Capture barriers to service delivery, infrastructure access, social inclusion, and livelihood improvement.
  • Provide contextual analysis including socio-economic, cultural, or political constraints.

4. Solution Gathering & Validation

  • Record community-proposed solutions and local best practices.
  • Facilitate co-design sessions where communities brainstorm viable interventions.
  • Validate proposed solutions with community stakeholders and ensure they align with SayProโ€™s development objectives.

5. Reporting & Data Submission

  • Submit detailed community insight reports to the SayPro Community Development Office monthly.
  • Use standardized reporting templates and digital tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, SayPro Survey Forms).
  • Ensure that all reports are accurate, timely, and representative of diverse community voices.

6. Feedback Loop and Follow-Up

  • Communicate SayProโ€™s planned actions based on documented needs and challenges.
  • Ensure communities are informed on project developments, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Monitor perceptions and satisfaction to foster ongoing community engagement.
