Role Focus: Drafting Full Proposals Using SayPro Logical Framework and Work Plan Templates
Department: SayPro Community Development Office
Reporting To: Program Design Manager | SayPro Development Royalty
Purpose: To translate design statements and strategic ideas into structured, fundable, and executable project proposals.
Role Overview
The SayPro Technical Writer / Project Developer is responsible for drafting comprehensive project proposals based on insights from the community, strategic guidance from SayPro Development Royalty, and the organization’s operational frameworks. This role ensures that all proposals are clear, goal-oriented, and aligned with SayPro’s Logical Framework Approach (LFA) and Work Plan Development standards.
The final proposals serve as formal documents for implementation, partnership engagement, donor submission, and internal approval.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interpret Preliminary Design Statements
- Review outputs from Community Liaison Officers and Design Workshops.
- Understand core problems, target beneficiaries, and suggested interventions.
- Translate these into structured, goal-oriented project concepts.
2. Develop Full Project Proposals
Using standardized SayPro Logical Framework and Work Plan templates, the Technical Writer will:
A. Draft Logical Framework (LogFrame)
Includes:
- Goal – Overall development objective the project contributes to.
- Purpose – Specific change the project aims to achieve.
- Outputs – Tangible deliverables that lead to the project purpose.
- Activities – Tasks and interventions planned to produce the outputs.
- Indicators & Means of Verification – How success will be measured and documented.
- Assumptions & Risks – External factors that could affect project success.
B. Prepare Detailed Work Plans
Includes:
- Activity scheduling (monthly or quarterly)
- Task assignment and responsible teams
- Resource needs (human, material, technical)
- Milestones and deadlines
- Budget estimates aligned with outputs
3. Ensure Alignment with Strategic Goals
- Check that each proposal fits SayPro’s broader development strategy and thematic priorities (e.g., youth development, economic inclusion, community infrastructure, education).
- Integrate cross-cutting issues like gender equality, sustainability, and innovation.
4. Collaborate with Internal Teams
- Work with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), finance, and implementation teams for data, cost estimates, and performance indicators.
- Revise drafts based on internal technical feedback.
5. Finalize and Format Proposals
- Produce high-quality documents ready for submission to internal review boards, development partners, donors, or governmental authorities.
- Ensure consistency in tone, branding, formatting, and data referencing.
Expected Outputs
- ✅ Full project proposals using SayPro’s Logical Framework Template
- ✅ Corresponding Work Plan documents with activity schedules and budgets
- ✅ Executive summaries and project briefs for stakeholders
- ✅ Revisions of proposals based on feedback from SayPro leadership and partners
- ✅ Proposal versions tailored to specific donor or programmatic requirements
Skills and Competencies
- Strong technical writing and editing skills
- Deep understanding of LogFrame methodology and results-based management
- Ability to synthesize community data into project logic
- Proficiency in proposal formatting, MS Word, Excel, or project management software
- Familiarity with development language, donor requirements, and budgeting practices
