Program:SayPro January SCDR.4.18.4 Development
Focus:Team Dynamics, Communication, Collaboration, Problem-Solving
Duration:5 Days (Integrated into daily camp sessions)

Objective:

The role of the Team Communication Facilitatoris to strengthen the interpersonal and communication skills of participating eSports teams. This role ensures that team members develop a strong foundation of trust, effective communication practices, and collaborative problem-solving abilities. The facilitator helps teams work cohesively and perform better under competitive pressure by guiding them through structured activities, real-time communication coaching, and post-game reflection.

Core Responsibilities:

#### 1. Facilitate Effective Communication Structures:

Introduce participants to professional in-game communication techniques:

Callouts:Location-based, objective-based, enemy status updates.
Voice Discipline:Keeping communication clear, concise, and purposeful.
Information Prioritization:Teaching players when and what to say to avoid information overload.
Establish a shared team vocabulary for fast and efficient exchanges during gameplay.
Set communication protocols for high-pressure moments (e.g., who leads calls, how to communicate under stress).

#### 2. Enhance Collaboration and Team Synergy:

Lead daily workshops and team-building activities aimed at building mutual understanding and respect.
Encourage open dialogue, active listening, and empathy between team members.
Design challenges that require cooperation to succeed (e.g., out-of-game problem-solving puzzles, strategic debates).
Help players recognize and leverage individual strengths to complement team goals.

#### 3. Guide Conflict Resolution and Emotional Regulation:

Teach conflict de-escalation techniques and promote healthy peer feedback habits.
Facilitate structured team check-ins to surface tensions before they escalate.
Train teams on emotional self-awareness and how to maintain composure under stress.
Address common issues like blame-shifting, communication breakdowns, and role frustration with structured tools.

#### 4. Strengthen Performance Under Pressure:

Simulate high-stakes match environments with limited time for decision-making and fast communication needs.
Coach teams through stressful situations using breathing exercises, visualization, and positive reinforcement.
Reinforce the importance of a growth mindset — viewing mistakes as opportunities for improvement.

#### 5. Observe and Provide Real-Time Communication Feedback:

Sit in on live matches to assess team communication flow.
Track:

Talk-time balance (is one player dominating conversation?)
Tone and clarity
Responsiveness and acknowledgement
Provide feedback after each session, encouraging teams to identify both strong points and communication gaps.

Tools and Techniques:

Communication Heatmaps:Tracking who talks when, and the quality of in-game exchanges.
Role-Play Scenarios:Simulated team disagreements and in-game stress situations for practice.
Team Journals:Players record daily reflections on what worked, what didn’t, and what they’d like to improve.
Collaborative Debriefing Sessions:Guided team conversations after matches to promote shared learning.

Expected Outcomes:

By the end of the camp, teams will:

Demonstrate fluid and efficient communication in high-pressure match scenarios.
Show improved coordination and collaboration during gameplay and scrimmages.
Develop the ability to navigate team disagreements constructively.
Foster a positive team culture built on trust, shared goals, and emotional resilience.

Would you like this adapted into a daily facilitation plan or paired with example communication drills?
