On 11 April 2025, SayPro successfully delivered a Life Skills Development session to two individuals in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Social Development. This initiative is part of SayPro’s ongoing commitment to empowering individuals with practical tools to navigate daily life challenges and improve their overall well-being.

Objectives of the Session:

  • To equip participants with essential life skills such as communication, decision-making, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving.
  • To support personal development and resilience in vulnerable or at-risk individuals.
  • To promote social inclusion and positive community participation through skill-building.

Programme Content:

The session covered the following key topics:

  1. Self-Awareness and Self-Esteem
    • Understanding personal strengths and weaknesses
    • Building confidence and a positive self-image
  2. Communication Skills
    • Verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
    • Active listening and respectful dialogue
  3. Decision-Making and Problem-Solving

Impact:

Despite the small group size, the session provided a personalized and interactive experience. The limited number of participants allowed for one-on-one engagement and tailored guidance, ensuring that each individual received focused support.

Participants demonstrated a strong willingness to engage and shared personal experiences that enriched the learning process. Feedback collected at the end of the session indicated that the participants felt more confident in handling daily life situations and appreciated the practical nature of the topics discussed.

Partner Acknowledgement:

SayPro acknowledges and appreciates the support of the Gauteng Department of Social Development for their active partnership and continued collaboration. Their role in identifying individuals who would benefit from this intervention and providing logistical and administrative support was instrumental in the success of this initiative.

Next Steps:

  • Follow-up with the two participants to assess progress and offer further support where necessary.
  • Continue collaboration with the Department of Social Development to expand outreach and impact in future sessions.
  • Schedule additional group sessions for broader community engagement.
